Sefer Yechezekel ספר יחזקאל Book of Ezekiel Study Lesson 25 (ch. 47-48)

1. Explain the meaning of the trickle of water, what is significant about “water” and this source it is coming from, and what is the significance of how the water transforms itself and how it transforms the entire earth.

2. Describe the boundaries of Israel from this chapter, how does it compare with the boundaries of Eretz Yisrael from the Torah, are they the same, and what do commentators say?

3. Vs. 16 mentions the city of חֲמָת “Hamat” – what do we know about this city, what other name does this city have and what is it famous for, and how is it relevant in the “Brit Chadasha” New Covenant?

4. What is significant regarding the “order” in which the tribes are listed here in ch. 48, what is the difficulty of this system of allotment, and how can such a division be implemented?

5. What is significant of the mention of the waters of Meribath-kadesh in vs. 28?

6. Why is the return of the Shechniah not described here in ch. 48 as the climax of the book rather it was described in 43, and what is the new name of the city of Jerusalem, and what is it’s significance?

Ezekiel 45

1. Explain how Eretz Yisrael will be divided up (measurements, how it will be allotted, etc..) in the future when all the tribes are returned, and the Kingdom of Israel is fully restored.  How does this allotment compare with the one listed in Revelation 7?

2. Verses 9-12 speak of a correction to the “Princes” of Israel, what do these verses correct, what do they clarify, and in opposition to the former princes of Israel how do these verses indicate to us the character and identity of the one true Prince (Nasi), spoken about in the rest of this chapter?

3. What is unique about vs. 13-15?

4. Vs. 17 mentions the Nasi’s role to give the burnt offerings.  Is there a difference between the Nasi (Prince) and the Kohen Gadol, (High Priest)?  Explain, give references.

5. What are some of the Halachic problems with vs. 18-25, how does this dilemma mystify the rabbinics, and how is it easily explained by the New Covenant?

EZEKIEL 46

6. How does the topic of a change in Torah continue here in ch. 46:1-3, also, how again is the question of the inner our outer gate interpreted in these verses and how do they relate to ch. 44:1-3?

7. Vs. 4-10 indicates the Prince (Nasi), will perform sacrifices in this 3rd Temple, even Sin Offerings.  If we assume the Prince is Yeshua the Messiah, how do commentators explain this in light of Yeshua’s completion of all sin offering by offering Himself?  In other words, how and why would Yeshua literally do these sacrifices in an age to come, how can it be justified?

Sefer Yechezekel ספר יחזקאל Book of Ezekiel Study Lesson 23 (ch. 43-44)

Ezekiel 43

Ezekiel 44

2. What is the significance of this “Prince at the Eastern Gate”; how did this prophetic passage of the shutting of this Eastern Gate ever get fulfilled, and what does it mean for us today?

3. Vs. 4 mentions the “North Gate”, was this the North Gate of the outer court, or the North Gate of the Inner Court where the Sanctuary is?

4. Vs. 10 through the end of the Chapter deals with the Cohanim/Levites.  How and where do we see them being “demoted” as priests and how is it possible that on one hand vs. 13 says they will “NOT” come near to Me to minister, but later vs. 15 says that they will…explain?
