Pesukim פסוקים are the "verses" of Scripture divided into Parashaot (Portions) read in the synagogue each week. On Monday's & Thursdays there are 3 divisions of the week's Parasha read and on Shabbat all 6 are read including a Maftir (added), which makes up the final Pesukim (verses) of the Parasha totaling (7) Aliyot each week. Rabbi Eric will give a short d'rash on each of the daily Pesukim that make up the week's Parasha for a good daily dose of Torah. (vii) 21 “To the descendants of Levi I have given the entire tenth of the produce collected in Isra’el. It is their inheritance in payment for the service they render in the tent of meeting. 22 From now on, the people of Isra’el are not to approach the tent of meeting, so that they will not bear the consequences of their sin and die. 23 Only the L’vi’im are to perform the service in the tent of meeting, and they will be responsible for whatever they do wrong. This is to be a permanent regulation through all your generations. The Pesukim for today, SHABBAT speaks of a concept that often goes forgotten among believers both in the Messianic movement as well as Gentile Christians. The concept in Hebrew here is called:
מַעֲשֵׂ֖ר מִן־הַֽמַּעֲשֵֽׂר
Ma'aser Min Hama'aser
Tithe of the Tithe
Ma'aser Min Hama'aser is a mitzvah that most lay people are not able to enforce. It is a matter of the leadership of the congregation to make sure they are in compliance with God's regulations regarding Holy things.
The very last pesuk gives us an understanding of the critical nature of the ma'aser min hama'aser: "you are not to profane the holy things of the people of Isra’el, or you will die.''
In other words, when a congregation gives of it's tithes and offerings to the local body, the leaders must be diligent to give a tithe off the tithe to the Lord - otherwise, they are profaning the Holy things of God!
I am amazed often when I encounter leaders in the Body of Messiah, even in our Messianic Movement who purposely choose NOT to tithe off the tithes of their congregation. I have often asked "why"? Usually, the answer is that they see themselves as the final place "where the buck stops"; and they say of themselves": "We are the Lord's ministry where people should be supporting"... It is apparent, that they fail to study the concept of Ma'aser min hama'aser.
Churches and Messianic Synagogues are "storehouses" that are commanded to give a tithe (10%) off every dollar that is received as an offering to the congregation. The tithe of the tithe is best served to the Lord as a refreshing offering to those who are serving as "Shaliachim" (sent ones), who need support in their efforts planting congregations across the world.

We do our best to screen them to make sure they are legitimate and fruitful and worthy ministries to support.
We take this mitzvah very seriously because if we are asking our members to give of their tithes, we too must set the example. This not only applies to synagogue finances, but even personal finances of each of our leaders - including the RABBI!
The rabbi/pastor should always tithe to the congregation he works for. This too is controversial among the body, and I know of some leaders who do not even tithe personally, yet they preach tithing.
The Lord is pleased when we obey and trust Him in all things. WE CANNOT OUT GIVE GOD. He always is Faithful and is favorable to those who obey Him and are Faithful in their own ma'aser, as well as the Ma'aser Min Hama'aser.
